Hypnotism - Ilmu Gendam
this will be my first time i make a writing on this topic.. well i am kind of acquainted to this thing but just havent had any urge to really think about it until recently i am involved with this dude.
this is the definition by oxford:
({sm}h{shti}pn{schwa}t{shti}z({schwa})m) The process of hypnotizing, or artificially producing a state in which the subject appears to be in a deep sleep, without any power of changing his mental or physical condition, except under the influence of some external suggestion or direction, to which he is involuntarily and unconsciously obedient. On recovering from this condition, the person has usually no remembrance of what he has said or done during the hypnotic state. The term is also applied to the branch of science which deals with the production of this state, and its causes and phenomena.
well, he sincerely believes that hypnotism is okay according to christianity and can even be used to serve heavenly purposes.
i on the other hand have a rather skeptic views on it. certainly i dont want to pass judgement that hypnotism is must be of evil spirits. however i certainly see that that hypnotism involves some certain degree of spirituality - and yes this may come from evil spirit…
i could rightaway pointed out that we were talking on two different assumptions of humanity. he considers that human is made of body, mind/soul, and spirit … whil i: body, and spirit.
that is why i maintain that hypnotism is a spiritual exercise.
he on the other hand is of the thinking that hypnotism is really about exercise of pure mind power so it is pretty much okay.
well, this is the question (what constitutte human being) that we may need to ask if we want to further ponder on hypnotism in …. and also to defend against it
